چکیده

To diminish the validation load on busy experts, a bi-directional, many-sided explanation typed multi-step validation method (MMBV) was proposed, which can decrease the validation tasks of experts (Tsuruta et al., 2000). This paper proposes the extension of MMBV. In this method, through the validation results and comments of experts, validation knowledge can be automatically acquired as case-based knowledge. Utilizing this knowledge, computers and KEs can validate, mostly without experts. Consequently, this method is effective for solving the bottleneck in acquiring validation knowledge from experts who are busy, and this further reduces validation load of such experts.

Validation Method for Intelligent Systems

Knowledge incorporated intelligent solving methods are prevailing in practical planning and scheduling because of the large problem size and complex constraints. However, when intelligent methods are used in real applications, it is an important problem to validate that both optimality and response time are at expert level. Turing Test approaches are useful in validating intelligent systems. Ne...

Intelligent Systems Validation Tool Based on Bi-Directional Many-Sided Explanation Typed Multi-Step Validation Method

A bi-directional many-sided explanation typed multi-step validation method including its implementation architecture has been proposed to diminish validation loads for busy experts. This paper presents a validation tool based on this method. This tool supports the multi-step, bi-directional validation by experts, KEs (Knowledge Engineers) and computers on the Intra/lnternet environment. Particu...

Evaluation and Refinement of Intelligent Systems

More and more AI researchers have realized that the lack of systematic methods and formal techniques for verification and validation (V&V) has often been one important reason for not using AI systems in practice. The first contributions in this field were limited to classical AI systems. Now, more and more papers on verification and validation of nonclassical kinds of systems (like case-based s...

Formal Validation of the Intelligent Monitoring System PATRICIA

In critical domains, the acceptance of a given intelligent monitoring system owes much to the validation process. Formal methods for validating those systems are frequently required. However there is not a generally accepted methodology to perform the task. In this paper the authors present the methodology and results obtained from the validation process of PATRICIA, an intelligent monitoring s...

Validatio of K Owledge-based Systems through Commo Kads

This paper defines a method that can be used for validating knowledge-based systems (KBS) throughout their entire lifecycle. Method’s name is MAVERICK. It stands for Method for Automated Validation Embedded into the Reusable and Incremental CommonKADS. The lack of suitable, rigorous and general validation methods has become a serious obstacle to user acceptance of KBS for critical applications....
